An undisclosed injury has forced Tom Watson out of his scheduled UFC Fight Night 30 encounter with Alessio Sakara.

The UFC’s United Kingdom branch announced on Sunday that Magnus Cedenblad will replace Watson against Sakara on the Oct. 26 card, which takes place at Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England. UFC Fight Night 30 is headlined by a middleweight clash between Michael Bisping and Mark Munoz.

“Thanks to everyone for your support,” Watson tweeted. “My injury will keep me out of contact training for around 8-10 weeks. I really hope to fight again in 2013.”

Cedenblad earned his first UFC triumph on Aug. 31, when he submitted Jared Hamman with a guillotine choke in 57 seconds at UFC 164. The 31-year-old Swede lost his Octagon debut to Francis Carmont, tapping to a rear-naked choke in the second round at UFC on Fuel TV 2.

Sakara is looking to snap a three-fight skid, having fallen to Chris Weidman, Brian Stann and Patrick Cote in succession. The loss to Cote at UFC 154 was perhaps the most disappointing, as the Italian fighter hurt his opponent with a pair of standing elbows but was disqualified for landing a series of illegal follow-up hammerfists to the back of Cote’s head. “Legionarious” has not tasted victory since March 2010, when he scored a first-round technical knockout victory over James Irvin at UFC Live 1.
