An undisclosed injury to Chad Laprise has resulted in the cancellation of his UFC 206 showdown with Jiangling Li, promotion officials announced Wednesday.
The Dec. 10 event will now move forward with 13 scheduled bouts. UFC 206 takes place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto and is headlined by a light heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson.
Laprise, who won “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations,” last appeared at UFC on Fox 21, where he scored a first-round technical knockout of Thibault Gouti. That victory halted a two-fight skid for the Ontario native.
Li, meanwhile, will be booked on a future card. “The Leech” improved to 3-2 in his Octagon tenure following a knockout of Anton Zafir in his most recent outing at “The Ultimate Fighter 23” finale.
