Chad Laprise will replace the injured Alan Jouban and face Brian Camozzi at UFC 213.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the new welterweight matchup on Thursday. UFC 213 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 8 and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight title bout between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko.
Jouban recently revealed that a fractured foot suffered in sparring would keep him from competing at UFC 213.
Laprise, 30, initially made his mark by winning “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations” with a split-decision triumph over Olivier Aubin-Mercier at the reality show’s finale in April 2014. The Canadian has compiled a 4-2 mark in the Octagon and is coming off a first-round stoppage of Thibault Gouti at UFC on Fox 21 last August.
Camozzi fell to 7-3 as a professional when he was fell to Randy Brown in his Octagon debut via second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 102 on Dec. 9.
