A featherweight bout between former title challengers Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas will headline the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s trip to Fairfax, Va., on April 4.

Lamas confirmed the bout to members of the media at UFC Fight Night “McGregor vs. Siver” on Sunday evening. The upcoming UFC Fight Night event will take place at the Patriot Center and also includes a lightweight clash between Dustin Poirier and Carlos Diego Ferreira.

Mendes came up short in his rematch with reigning featherweight king Jose Aldo, losing a thrilling five-round decision to the Nova Uniao star at UFC 179 on Oct. 25. The Team Alpha Male product’s only two defeats in 18 professional outings have come against Aldo.

Lamas, who dropped a five-round verdict to Aldo at UFC 169, has since rebounded to win his last two fights, outpointing Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night “Swanson vs. Stephens” in June before submitting Dennis Bermudez with a first-round guillotine choke at UFC 180 in November.
