Chael Sonnen continues to find his way outside of the mixed martial arts world.
After failing two drug tests, Sonnen was suspended from MMA competition for 24 months by the Nevada Athletic Commission on July 23, 2014. Since then, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship title challenger has found ways to scratch his competitive itch by taking part in Metamoris grappling matches, commentating World Series of Fighting events and even an attempt to strike fame on the annual “Jim Rome Smack-Off.”
Now comes word that the 38-year-old will take part in the upcoming eighth season of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice.”
Hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, “The Celebrity Apprentice” will see 16 celebrities battle it out in the boardroom for their favorite charities.
Produced and internationally distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, “The Celebrity Apprentice” has raised more than $15 million for charity. This season’s winner will gain the coveted title of the Celebrity Apprentice and a $250,000 check to give to their designated charity.
Sonnen will be 39 when his MMA suspension ends later this year.
