An unspecified illness has forced rising featherweight Chas Skelly out of his planned June 27 bout against Hacran Dias.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced Skelly’s withdrawal on Monday. Dias will instead meet Levan Makashvili on the undercard of UFC Fight Night “Machida vs. Romero”, which takes place at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
Dias has gone 2-2 in his three-year UFC career, with all four bouts reaching the judges’ scorecards. The 31-year-old Nova Uniao product was last seen on Dec. 20, when he snapped a two-fight losing skid by outpointing Darren Elkins in Barueri, Brazil.
Makashvili, 26, comes fresh off a split-decision win over Mark Eddiva in his Octagon debut on May 16. A former Cage Fury Fighting Championship titleholder, “The Hornet” holds a professional mark of 7-1 with three finishes.
