“There’s always negativity from people after a loss, often we linger too long on that,” Daukaus said. “I’m very appreciative for the people who have not done that and who have reached out with positivity. You guys are the best, especially @Boogerbeard1@MacMallyMMA thank you.”

The ex-Cage Fury Fighting Championships competitor began his Octagon tenure with four consecutive KO/TKO triumphs, but has since been finished by Blaydes and Derrick Lewis in back-to-back outings. At Saturday’s post-fight press conference, Blaydes suggested that Daukaus move to 205 pounds.
“I think honestly, no shade, he should probably drop down to light heavyweight,” Blaydes said. “Not everyone’s a heavyweight. It’s OK. Just because you weight 245 does not mean you’re a heavyweight. I think he should drop down.”
