The Ultimate Fighting Championship has unveiled a potent featherweight clash for its Nov. 7 UFC Fight Night “Belfort vs. Henderson 3” card.
Clay Guida will lock horns with Thiago Tavares at Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The showdown was made official Friday morning on the UFC’s official website.
Guida (32-15) is 3-2 in the Octagon since making the move to 145 pounds and last saw action in a unanimous decision win against Robbie Peralta on April 5. The 33-year-old Jackson-Wink MMA product has not secured a finish since he tapped Takanori Gomi with a guillotine choke on Jan. 1, 2011 at UFC 125.
Tavares (19-6-1), too, moved from lightweight to featherweight and is 1-1 since the transition. The 30-year-old earned a performance of the night bonus in a losing effort against Brian Ortega back on June 6.
