Clements-Wisniewski Welterweight Bout Set for UFC 145 in Montreal

The Canadian flavor continues to pour the UFC 145 card, as a welterweight bout between debuting Canadian Chris Clements (pictured) and veteran Keith Wisniewski.

UFC officials confirmed the 170-pound contest on Monday.

UFC 145 is slated for the promotion’s return to the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 24. The Clements-Wisniewski bout will be part of the preliminary card, which will air on FX. The main card will air live on pay-per-view.

Clements, 35, is a former student of the late Shawn Tompkins and has won four straight with four stoppages to gain entry into the Octagon. The IFL veteran retired UFC vet Jonathan Goulet with a second-round knockout in November 2010, and punched out another Octagon veteran in Rich Clementi in the third round in December. The Chatham, Ontario, native holds a 10-4 MMA mark and has never been to a decision in his six-plus-year career, with all 10 wins coming by knockout.

The 30-year-old Wisniewski is making his third UFC appearance, after falling to Nick Thompson at UFC 56 in November 2005 and being stopped on cuts against Josh Neer last October at UFC Live 6. Prior to the Neer defeat, the Portage, Ind., native won six straight to get back to the UFC, knocking off fellow UFC vets Chris Wilson and Pete Spratt.
