Cody Garbrandt vs. T.J. Dillashaw Confirmed for UFC 213 in Las Vegas

Cody Garbrandt will defend his bantamweight crown against former Team Alpha Male training partner T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 213.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the pairing during the UFC 210 post-fight press conference on Saturday. Garbrandt and Dillashaw are opposing coaches on Season 25 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which premieres April 19 on Fox Sports 1.

“Obviously Cody and T.J. are on that card, so yeah, we’ll see how that goes,” White said.

UFC 213 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 8. A headliner has not been announced for the card, although White is hopeful that he can book Michael Bisping’s middleweight title defense against Georges St. Pierre for that spot.

Garbrandt claimed the bantamweight throne with a five-round verdict over Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 on Dec. 30. “No Love’ is 11-0 as a pro, with six of those triumphs coming in the Octagon.

Dillashaw, meanwhile, has earned back-to-back triumphs over John Lineker and Raphael Assuncao after dropping the 135-pound belt to Cruz in a split decision at UFC Fight Night 81. The Elevation Fight Team representative is 14-3 as a professional and 10-3 in the UFC.
