It’s been nearly two years since Conor McGregor last stepped into the Octagon, but the Irishman’s star continues to burn brightly.

The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion checks in at No. 18 on the ESPN World Fame 100, a list of the world’s most popular athletes. According to ESPN, the list began with 600 athletes from 68 countries and was narrowed down to 100 based on the following criteria: how often their name is searched, endorsement earnings and social media followers.

According to ESPN figures, McGregor raked in $9 million in endorsement and has a total social media following of 22.6 million. In 2017, the SGB Ireland representative ranked No. 25 on the same list, while former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey checked in at No. 17 and ex-middleweight ruler Anderson Silva was No. 39. Neither Rousey nor Silva were present this year, but McGregor boxing foe Floyd Mayweather headed a group of six boxers on the list at No. 14.

Here’s what ESPN had to say about “The Notorious” one this year:

Conor McGregor’s boxing record reads 0-1, but he is in the region of $100 million richer for it. Not bad for a year in which his combined time in the ring and octagon totals the 10 rounds he lasted against Floyd Mayweather in their August megafight in Las Vegas. But he is never far from headlines. When “The Notorious” posts a video on Instagram, it goes viral, but after he threw a hand truck through a bus window with Khabib Nurmagomedov aboard, McGregor was worldwide news. A bail fee of $50,000 and a charge of assault and criminal mischief followed, but it has only stoked the fires ahead of a potential showdown with Nurmagomedov in what would be the biggest matchup in UFC history. McGregor is ever box office.

McGregor is due in court in New York on June 14 to face charges for the aforementioned attack on the bus ahead of UFC 223. He last appeared in the Octagon at UFC 205 in November 2016, where a second-round stoppage of Eddie Alvarez earned him lightweight gold. He has since been stripped of the belt due to inactivity.
