A featherweight matchup pitting Cole Miller against Conor McGregor will headline the UFC’s return to Ireland. Ultimate Fighting Championship officials Wednesday announced the booking, which takes place July 19 at the O2 in Dublin, and will also see Brad Pickett collide with Ian McCall in a pivotal flyweight showdown. The card is expected to stream live on UFC Fight Pass and will additionally feature a welterweight clash pitting grappling ace Gunnar Nelson against fellow unbeaten Ryan LaFlare.
McGregor suffered an ACL tear in his last outing, a unanimous decision victory over Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26. The 25-year-old owns 12 of his 14 career triumphs by way of knockout and had never before gone the distance before outpointing Holloway last August.
Miller closed out last year with a unanimous decision win over Andy Ogle, after which he called out McGregor in his post-fight interview. The American Top Team rep kicked off 2014 in style, submitting “TUF 15” alumnus Sam Sicilia with a second-round rear-naked choke in January.
