Taking place at Caesars Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., Bellator 59 will feature the finals of the promotion's ongoing bantamweight and heavyweight tournaments. Additionally, UFC veteran Kurt Pellegrino will take on Season 4 tournament finalist Patricky Freire in a lightweight showdown.
The promotion has also added an extra fight to fill out the Spike.com stream, as Doug Gordon will meet Lucas Pimenta Borges in a 175-pound catch-weight affair.
Known as “Flash,” Gordon has lost three of his last four. The Elite BJJ representative is a Ring of Combat veteran and owns six of his 11 career victories by knockout. The five-year pro owns notable wins over Gregor Gracie and LeVon Maynard and last competed on May 20, falling by submission to Joey Rivera.
Unbeaten in four professional outings, Borges has fought thrice in 2011 after making his debut over three years ago. Representing Vita Team, the Portuguese welterweight fought twice in October, notching a pair of first-round knockout victories over Doug Rossi and Bryan Danner.
