Silva (Pictures) will defend his UFC middleweight
title against Patrick Cote
(Pictures) at UFC 90 on Oct. 25, the Chicago
Sun-Times reported Saturday.
Cote, 13-4, won a split decision over Ricardo Almeida (Pictures) on July 5. He has won five straight, including victories over Drew McFedries, Kendall Grove (Pictures), Jason Day (Pictures) and Scott Smith (Pictures).
No one in the UFC has made it past the second round with Silva. The Brazilian is 7-0 in the Octagon, 22-4 overall and regarded by many as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Yushin Okami (Pictures), who holds a disqualification win over Silva, was expected to get the next middleweight title shot, but he broke his hand.
UFC 90 will take place near Chicago in Rosemont, Ill., at the Allstate Arena.
