Couture: Franklin Possible for August

Randy Couture’s attorney Sam Spira told Sherdog.com on Friday that the popular icon has not been approached about filling in against Anderson Silva at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi after Vitor Belfort was forced off the card due to a shoulder injury on Thursday.

Spira also stated that his client has not made a decision on whether or not he will be fighting former middleweight champion Rich Franklin, although he did acknowledge the fight has been discussed.

Couture’s attorney said that he did not think the fight would happen at UFC 115 should the two former champions come to an agreement. He said an early August date is what they are looking at for the bout.
