The Ultimate Fighting Championship's Athlete Retreat certainly isn't a vacation or a picnic.
On Sunday, featherweight ace “Cyborg” Cristiane Justino and UFC bantamweight Angela Magana reportedly were involved in a physical altercation, with Justino punching Magana in the face. MMAFighting's Ariel Helwani initially reported the fracas, which was then corroborated by several eye witness accounts from some of the over 300 fighters in attendance at the multi-day event in Las Vegas.
You forgot where she punked Weidman like a G! Never seen Weidman pivot away so fast https://t.co/Dx3KdsAc4q— Aljamain Sterling (@FunkMaster_UFC) May 21, 2017
After a heated exchange of words, Justino struck Magana in the face, allegedly stunning her, but not knocking her down. The 31-year-old Justino was reportedly upset over several of Magana's recent antagonistic tweets about her, most notably a tweet on April 27 in which Magana called upon her followers to vote in a “Who wore it better?” poll. The tweet contained a picture of Cyborg, dressed in superhero regalia, posing with several cancer-stricken children, alongside a picture of infamous horror movie puppet Jigsaw from the “Saw” franchise.

A series of tweets from Magana after the incident, in which she was sporting a laceration on her lip, said that authorities had been called by UFC officials and that suggested that both the Brazilian would be arrested and that she planned on pressing charges. UFC officials did not respond to Sherdog.com for comment on the situation.
Cyborg hasn't fought since knocking out Lina Lansberg in Brasilia, Brazil last September in the Octagon. With no set timetable for the return of UFC women's featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie, the 145-pound star has taken to calling out Invicta Fighting Championships featherweight champion Megan Anderson for a UFC interim title fight on July 29 at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California.
