‘Crusher’ Kawajiri Paired with Sean Soriano at UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore

Japanese featherweight Tatsuya Kawajiri now has a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 34, as UFC officials announced Thursday that Sean Soriano will replace an injured Hacran Dias against “Crusher” at the Jan. 4 event.
UFC Fight Night 34 marks the organization’s debut in Singapore and takes place at the Marina Bay Sands, headlined by a welterweight showdown between Hyun Gyu Lim and Tarec Saffiedine.
Soriano, 24, has never been beaten as a pro, racking up eight straight wins to begin his career. The Blackzilians rep competed twice in 2013 and was last seen in May, when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Elvin Leon Brito in the Florida-based Championship Fighting Alliance.
In Kawajiri, Soriano will face a former Shooto champion and Pride FC veteran. “Crusher” made the cut to featherweight in 2011 and has yet to lose at 145 pounds, most recently taking a unanimous decision from Michihiro Omigawa roughly one year ago at Dream 18.
