Curran, Jorgensen Signed for UFC 137

Jeff Curran's first Octagon appearance in seven years will be no cake walk, as the UFC announced Thursday that Curran has signed on to face Scott Jorgensen at UFC 137.

Headlined by a welterweight title clash between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz, the event goes down Oct. 29 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

A former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight title challenger, Curran (Pictured) had a six fight winning streak snapped by a four-fight skid to close out his WEC career. The 33-year-old's lone UFC experience came in 2004, losing a lightweight scrap to Matt Serra at UFC 46. Recently, the “Big Frog” has won four of his last five, with his last effort resulting in a unanimous decision victory over Billy Vaughan in May.

A winner in six of his last seven fights, Jorgensen's lone loss in the last two years came to Dominick Cruz at WEC 53. Though “Young Guns” failed to capture Cruz's WEC title in December, he would rebound from the loss with a win in his UFC debut, smashing Ken Stone with a first-round knockout at “The Ultimate Fighter 13” finale last month.
