Silva (41-17-1, 26 KOs) slowed down considerably down the stretch, allowing Marshall (16-2, 9 KOs) to coast to a surprisingly easy win, where he won a unanimous decision. The judges favored the younger man vi tallies of 29-28 and 30-27 (four times) to take the tournament and hopefully land a shot at Glory heavyweight champ Rico Verhoeven down the road. Silva knocked out Giannis Stoforidis (19-6, 11 KOs) at 2:26 of the second to reach the finals.
In the heavyweight co-feature, Hesdy Gerges was far too much for Tomas Hron to handle. The Egyptian did whatever he wanted against Hron (81-18-3, 30 KOs) as he dropped him twice in the first with short punches to the head on the inside. Gerges (50-18-1, 23 KOs) wasn’t to put the Czech fighter away, but he dominated him for three rounds and won a lopsided unanimous nod. All five ringside judges favored Gerges via scores of 30-24.
In a featherweight special attraction, China’s Chenglong Zhang floored Wilson Sanches Mendes in the second and nearly decapitated him in the third with a perfect head kick. The Cape Verde fighter somehow was able to not only remain conscious, but he climbed back to his feet and finished the fight, though Zhang won the unanimous decision. Two judges had it 29-28 and the other three saw it 30-25 for Zhang, who improved to 39-5 with 11 KOs. Mendes fell to 5-3-1.
