Dana White: Ian McCall May Be Unable to Fight John Lineker on Saturday Due to Illness
Ian McCall is scheduled to fight John Lineker in the co-main event
of Saturday’s
UFC Fight Night “Shogun vs. St. Preux,” but according to
Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White, the bout
may be in danger.
During the telecast of UFC Fight Night “Rockhold vs. Bisping” White took to Twitter in an effort to soften the blow in case McCall is unable to fight tomorrow because of sickness.
The bout is undoubtedly crucial to the flyweight landscape with contenders for Demetrious Johnson’s title lacking.
Earlier on Friday, it seemed as if Lineker could have potentially been the reason for the fight not taking place, as “Hands of Stone” was overweight, but the Brazilian eventually hit the required mark of 126 pounds.
Sherdog.com will update this story with the status of McCall as information become available.
