Dana White: Ronda Rousey Hasn’t Told Me She’s Retiring, But UFC Return Unlikely

At least for now, Ronda Rousey hasn’t officially called it a career. But according to UFC President Dana White, a return to the Octagon doesn’t seem likely at this point.

“I don’t think [she’s coming back],” White recently told TMZ Sports. “She hasn’t retired. She hasn’t told me she’s retiring…She’s actually enjoying herself. She’s having fun. She made a lot of money and she’s enjoying it now.”

Rousey returned to action after more than a year hiatus at UFC 207 on Dec. 30, when she suffered a 48-second technical knockout loss to reigning 135-pound queen Amanda Nunes. That came on the heels of Rousey’s second-round KO loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015, a defeat that ended her 12-fight unbeaten streak and shattered her aura of invincibility.

Since the loss to Nunes, Rousey has maintained a low profile, much like she did after suffering her first career setback. However, “Rowdy” has found opportunities outside of the cage. The Olympic judoka has made appearances in a few blockbuster films including Expendables 3, Furious 7 and Entourage. She also recently participated in filming for a role in the hit NBC series “Blindspot.” In short, she doesn’t need MMA to boost her bank account.

“She’s made a lot of money. She was just on that TV show,” White said. “And if they go to another season, she might be a regular character on the show. I could she her doing that. She’s talented, she’s driven, she’s awesome. She can do whatever she sets her mind to do.”
