If there was speculation, it can formally end.
UFC President Dana White on Thursday morning revealed on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike” that Ronda Rousey will indeed rematch Holly Holm when she returns to the Octagon.
“I think that if we didn't make the rematch, me and Lorenzo [Fertitta] should probably lose our promoters’ license if we didn’t make that rematch,” White told Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic. “Yeah, that fight's going to happen. I don't know when, but that's the fight that will happen.”
Rousey was upset by Holm at UFC 193, who put a vicious beating on the poster girl of women’s mixed martial arts and put her away with a second-round head kick and follow-up punches.
“Ronda Rousey has gone undefeated, taken the sport to another level and was beating the best women in the world in 14 seconds or 30 seconds, so she deserves a rematch,” White said. “Holly agrees she deserves a rematch, and we'll figure it out.”
