Daniel Omielanczuk will replace Ruslan Magomedov and meet Stefan Struve at UFC 204.
The promotion announced the change on Thursday. According to a recent report from MMAjunkie.com, Magomedov was sidelined due to a staph infection. UFC 204 takes place at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England, on Oct. 15 and is headlined by a middleweight championship bout between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson.
Omielanczuk, 34, enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak, with consecutive triumphs over Alexey Oleynik, Jarjis Danho and Chris de la Rocha. The Polish heavyweight dropped two of his first three Octagon appearances before his current tear.
Struve was successful in his first outing of 2016, scoring a 16-second knockout of Antonio Silva at UFC Fight Night “Overeem vs. Arlovski” on May 8. The 28-year-old Dutchman also owns notable triumphs over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Stipe Miocic during his promotional tenure.
