Former welterweight champions Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter are set to headline Saturday’s Showtime boxing card airing live from Brooklyn, with the vacant WBC 147-pound title on the line.
Porter, 30, is a former IBF champion and Garcia is looking to regain the WBC welterweight title he lost to Keith Thurman last year. But with Thurman now stripped of the title due to inactivity from multiple injuries, the belt is once again on the line for two of boxing’s best-known welterweights.
The televised card begins at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime, with undercard attractions will be streamed live beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
