The fight card for UFC Fight Night “Machida vs. Romero” has been finalized with the addition of a bantamweight matchup between Danny Martinez and Sirwan Kakai.
Promotion officials recently announced the bout. The UFC Fight Night card takes place on Saturday night at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and is headlined by a middleweight showdown between Lyoto Machida and Yoel Romero.
Martinez returns to the Octagon for the first time since last June, when he dropped a unanimous decision against Scott Jorgensen at UFC Fight Night in Albuquerque. “The Gremlin” also came up short in his promotional debut at UFC 169, losing a three-round verdict to Chris Cariaso. The 30-year-old Tempe, Ariz., native is 16-6 as a professional overall, including 11 victories inside the distance.
Kakai has won 11 of his first 13 pro outings ahead of his UFC debut. The 25-year-old Swede last appeared at Titan Fighting Championship 31, where he submitted Joseph Barajas with an arm-triangle choke 4:40 into round three. Kakai has finished all but one of his 11 career triumphs via knockout or submission.
