A bantamweight showdown pitting Darrion Caldwell against Rafael Silva has been added to the Bellator 137 main card.
Sherdog.com confirmed the matchup with a Bellator official on Wednesday. As a result, a light heavyweight clash between Virgil Zwicker and Razak Al-Hassan that was originally set for the main card has been moved to the prelims.
Bellator 137 takes place at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif., on May 15 and is headlined by a middleweight title tilt between Brandon Halsey and Kendall Grove. The evening’s four-bout feature airs live on Spike TV.
A national champion wrestler at North Carolina State University, Caldwell has compiled a 6-0 mark since beginning his professional MMA career in 2012. The 27-year-old Power MMA Team representative is 3-0 in Bellator, including a unanimous decision triumph over Anthony Dizy in his most recent outing this past October. Caldwell’s first three Bellator appearances came at 145 pounds.
Silva, meanwhile, had a 13-fight winning streak halted by Joe Warren in a five-round bout at Bellator 118. “Morcego” has since rebounded from that defeat, as he outpointed Robert Emerson in his most recent appearance at Bellator 127.
