A middleweight preliminary matchup between Derek Brunson and Ed Herman at UFC on Fox 13 has been canceled.

The news was first announced on Fox Sports 1, with “stomach issues” cited as the reason for Brunson’s withdrawal.

Shortly thereafter, Brunson revealed on Facebook that food poisoning put his fifth Octagon appearance on hold.

“Got food poisoning, threw up [three] times today [and] had an upset stomach,” Brunson wrote. “I will not be fighting tonight. Sorry guys, I’ll be getting rescheduled soon.”

Brunson, 30, is 3-1 in the Octagon, with his lone defeat coming at the hands of Yoel Romero this past January. In his most recent outing, the Jackson-Wink MMA product outpointed Lorenz Larkin at UFC 177.

A veteran of “The Ultimate Fighter 3,” Herman is 9-6 in 15 promotional appearances. “Short Fuse” last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Silva” in May, when he took a unanimous decision over Rafael Natal.

It is currently unclear when or if the bout will be rescheduled for a later event.
