Diaz Out of Dream

EliteXC President Gary Shaw has pulled Nick Diaz (Pictures) out of the Dream event set to take place Sunday in Japan.

Graciefighter.com reported Monday that Shaw believed Diaz's scheduled matchup this weekend against former King of Pancrase Katsuya Inoue (Pictures) was too close to his June 14 EliteXC bout against Muhsin Corbbrey (Pictures). Diaz had been told he could fight April 29 in Dream, according to Graciefighter.com, but when his participation was changed to Sunday's event, Shaw apparently only learned after the fact.

Diaz's bout against Inoue would have been an eliminator for the newly created Dream welterweight championship.
