Diego Brandao and Jim Hettes have a new date for their bout which was originally slated to take place in January.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials Monday announced that the featherweights will meet on April 18 in Newark, N.J., as part of UFC on Fox 15. The network-broadcast event features a middleweight main event pitting Luke Rockhold against Lyoto Machida.
Brandao and Hettes were scheduled to fight on the undercard of UFC 183, but the bout was scratched at the last minute when Hettes reportedly passed out backstage.
Brandao has gone 3-3 inside the Octagon since becoming the featherweight winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 14” in 2011. The Brazilian slugger will look to snap a two-fight losing skid, having suffered knockouts at the hands of Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier in the past 14 months.
Hettes will also attempt to rebound from a stoppage loss, as “The Kid” was halted by “TUF 14” runner-up Dennis Bermudez in his last outing one year ago. The Pennsylvanian carries a 3-2 UFC record which includes victories over Nam Phan and Alex Caceres.
