Documentary Footage Captures Cris ‘Cyborg’ Crying During Weight Cut Before UFC 198
Those who watched weigh-ins ahead of UFC 198 had a pretty good idea that Cristiane Justino struggled to make 140 pounds for her catch-weight bout with Leslie Smith.

Ultimately, “Cyborg” made the weight and earned a first-round technical knockout stoppage of Smith in Curitiba, Brazil, on May 14. The 31-year-old Brazilian, who is the reigning Invicta FC 145-pound champion, will return to the Octagon on Sept. 24 for another 140-pound bout against Lina Lansberg in the UFC Fight Night headliner in Brasilia, Brazil.
Also a former Strikeforce titlist, Justino was long linked to a super fight with Ronda Rousey, but the Brazilian had to prove that she could make 135 pounds for that bout to come to fruition. Even if Rousey does return, such a move seems unlikely now, as “Cyborg” seemed more inclined to defend her Invicta belt or seek catch-weight matchups following UFC 198.
“I’m really happy about this fight because I feel great,” Justino said following her win over Smith at UFC 198. “I made 140 and today I did good. I think maybe I could make catch-weight or I will defend my belt at 145.”
