Dream Announces Two More Fights
Tuesday, June 03, 2008
Dream parent company Fight Entertainment Group have announced two more bouts for their June 15 card at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan.

In a heavyweight affair, flying Dutchman Alistair Overeem (Pictures) will take on South Korean ssireum giant Tae Hyun Lee (Pictures), while grappling all-star Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira will take on upstart sambist Alavutdin Gadzhiyev (Pictures).

The well-regarded Overeem has not seen action since last November, when he destroyed Paul Buentello (Pictures) to claim Strikeforce's heavyweight crown, finishing "The Headhunter" with vicious knees to the body in the second stanza.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Lee is the all-time winningest competitor in the history of ssireum, South Korea's style of traditional wrestling. Lee made a forgettable and unsuccesful MMA debut in September 2006, but saw victory in his last action, destroying veteran hard-lucker Yoshihisa Yamamoto (Pictures) in 63 seconds last October.

Cacareco is the owner of five straight victories which entail a host of sensational submissions, including his 37-second heel hooking of Branden Lee Hinkle (Pictures), his 27-second kneebarring of Fabio Maldonado (Pictures) and, most recently, his 20-second guillotine choking of light heavyweight prospect Lew Polley (Pictures) in the IFL ring last February.

Gadzhiyev has reeled off a series of his own quick stoppages, knocking out opponents left and right. The Russian sambist has five knockouts in his last seven bouts, with all of them coming in 80 seconds or less. His last plunking came in March, where he knocked out Hikaru Sato (Pictures) in highly irregular fashion, waffling him with punches from the bottom of full mount.
