Eddie Alvarez, Kevin Lee Respond to Nate Diaz Instagram Post Hinting at UFC Return

It didn’t take long for Nate Diaz to find some potential suitors for his next Ultimate Fighting Championship bout.

Shortly after Diaz hinted that he might return to the UFC in May or June, lightweight contenders Eddie Alvarez and Kevin Lee took to Twitter to indicate that they’d be willing to welcome the Stockton, Calif., native back to the Octagon.

Alvarez, the former lightweight champion, is coming off a third-round knockout victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 218, a victory which he claims gave him the unofficial title of the sport’s “Most Violent Fighter.” Lee, meanwhile, had a five-fight winning streak snapped in a third-round submission loss to Tony Ferguson in an interim 155-pound title bout at UFC 216.

It’s worth nothing that Diaz’s last two Octagon appearances — a submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196 and a majority decision defeat to the Irishman at UFC 202 — occurred at 170 pounds. A 170-pound title shot against Tyron Woodley was also reportedly in the works late last year but ultimately did not come to fruition.
