In a middleweight battle of “The Ultimate Fighter” alums, Eddie Gordon will fight Josh Samman at UFC 181 in Las Vegas.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the bout on Tuesday. The pay-per-view takes place at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Dec. 6 and features a pair of title fights, as Johny Hendricks defends his welterweight strap against Robbie Lawler, and reigning lightweight king Anthony Pettis squares off with Gilbert Melendez.
Gordon will return to action for the first time since defeating Dhiego Lima at “The Ultimate Fighter 19” finale in July. “Truck” has lost only once in his MMA career, a unanimous decision against Anton Talamantes in 2012.
Samman will look to return to the Octagon following a hamstring injury. The “TUF 17” semifinalist was last in action at “The Ultimate Fighter 17” finale, defeating Kevin Casey via knockout. Samman was slated to fight Caio Magalhaes at UFC on Fox 11 before suffering the injury.
