The vehicle believed to be responsible for the death of Ryan Jimmo was located and seized for forensic examination late Monday evening, according to Edmonton Police.
Jimmo was reportedly walking away from an altercation with two men in the parking lot of the H2O Lounge in Edmonton on Sunday, when the men accelerated their vehicle and hit the UFC veteran before fleeing the scene.
The fighter died from his injuries after being transported to a local hospital. Edmonton’s medical examiner performed an autopsy on Tuesday and confirmed that Jimmo died at age 34 as a result of blunt force trauma. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation of Jimmo’s death and are still searching for the suspects.
Jimmo last fought at a UFC Fight Night event on May 30, 2015, dropping a decision to Francimar Barroso. He went 3-4 during his Octagon tenure and compiled a 19-5 mark over the course a professional career that began in 2007.
