Elias Theodorou will lock horns with Brad Tavares in a middleweight clash at "The Ultimate Fighter 25" finale, promotion officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The “TUF 25” finale takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 7 and also includes a featherweight scrap pitting Gray Maynard against Teruto Ishihara. A headliner has not been announced for the event, which is part of International Fight Week and precedes UFC 213 on July 8.
Theodorou, who won “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations,” is 5-1 in the Octagon, with his only defeat coming at the hands of Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 80. “The Spartan” enters the matchup on the strength of back-to-back victories over Sam Alvey and Cezar Ferreira.
Tavares has won two of his last three Octagon appearances. He competed just once in 2016, taking a split verdict over Caio Magalhaes at UFC 203. The 29-year-old is 9-4 over the course of his promotional tenure.
