Emelianenko-Mahle Bout Postponed

Aleksander Emelianenko (Pictured) will have to wait for his chance to fight in Poland.

The Russian heavyweight was scheduled to headline Polish promotion Strefa Walk's Nov. 19 “Polish-Russian War” card against German Chris Mahle at the Atlas Arena in Lodz. However, the promotion has announced that the event has been postponed until February.

Strefa Walk did not reveal any reason for the postponement.

The event was slated to take place in the 14,000 seat Atlas Arena in Lodz, the third event at the venue in as many months. On Sept. 18, Poland's top promotion, KSW, nearly sold out the venue with a headliner between Polish strongman-turned-fighter Mariusz Pudzianowski and Eric "Butterbean" Esch.

Two weeks prior, promotion Fighters Arena Lodz headlined its Sept. 3 card with Pride veteran and Olympic gold medalist judoka Pawel Nastula taking on Japan's Yusuke Masuda. The event drew just over 1000 spectators to the cavernous venue.

Strefa Walk has stated it will make an announcement on Nov. 16 regarding the specific date and venue of the rescheduled card.
