Erik Perez will fight in his hometown of Monterrey, Mexico, when he meets Damian Stasiak at UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Gastelum” on Nov. 21.
The UFC’s Spanish branch announced the booking on Tuesday. The UFC Fight Night event takes place at the Monterrey Arena and is headlined by a welterweight tilt pitting Matt Brown against Kelvin Gastelum.
After being sidelined with a shoulder injury, Perez will return to action for the first time since a loss to Bryan Caraway at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. Khabilov” in June 2014. “El Goyito” began his Octagon tenure with three straight first-round finishes but has since lost two of three.
A native of Lodz, Poland, Stasiak had a five-bout streak halted in his Octagon debut, as he dropped a unanimous decision to Yaotzin Meza at UFC Fight Night “Gonzaga vs. Cro Cop 2.” The 25-year-old has finished five of his eight career victories via submission.
