Ev Ting will get the chance to put on a show for his countrymen.
One Championship has announced that the New Zealand-based Malaysian Ting will take on Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Kamal Shalorus at One Championship 52 “Throne of Tigers” on Feb. 10. Ting-Shalorus will headline the card, which takes place at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur.
A winner in six of his last seven bouts which were all under the One Championship banner, Ting has won three straight. After using his trademark guillotine choke to tap Honorio Banario and Eric Kelly, the 27-year-old “E.T.” earned a unanimous decision over Rob Lisita.
Shalorus, 39, first came to prominence in the Zuffa-owned World Extreme Cagefighting in 2009 and 2010, putting together a 3-0-1 record in the promotion. After WEC's closure, the UFC was less hospitable for the Iranian wrestler as Shalorus went 0-3 in the Octagon, dropping fights to Jim Miller, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael dos Anjos. Shalorus hasn't fought since August 2014, when he was choked out by Shinya Aoki in just over two minutes at One Championship 19.
