Former Invicta FC bantamweight champ Yana Kunitskaya will make her Octagon debut against Sara McMann at UFC on Fox 28.
Both fighters confirmed the pairing via social media. UFC on Fox 28 takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando on Feb. 24 and will also include a middleweight clash between Yoel Romero and David Branch. The evening’s main card will air on the Fox Network, with prelims appearing on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Kunitskaya claimed the Invicta 135-pound title with a five-round verdict over Raquel Pa’aluhi on Aug. 31. That belt will likely be vacated with Kunitskaya’s departure to the UFC. The 28-year-old Russian owns a 10-3 career mark with one no contest, and seven of her victories have come via KO/TKO.
McMann, meanwhile, saw a three-fight winning streak come to an end at UFC 215, as she was submitted in the second round by Ketlen Vieira. The former title challenger has compiled a 5-4 mark in the Octagon and is 11-4 as a professional overall.
