Brandon Halsey will meet John Salter in a middleweight bout at Bellator 156 on June 17.

Promotion officials announced the matchup on Tuesday. Bellator 156 takes place at SaveMart Center in Fresno, Calif., and is headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between Marcos Galvao and Eduardo Dantas. The evening’s main card airs on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

Halsey won the Bellator middleweight strap with a first-round submission of Alexander Shlemenko in September 2014. Most recently, “Bull” was knocked out by a Rafael Carvalho body kick in a bid for the vacant 185-pound belt at Bellator 144 this past October.

A three-time UFC veteran, Salter made his promotional debut on Jan. 16, submitting Dustin Jacoby in a the second round at Bellator 132. The Dethrone Base Camp representative has won six of his last seven fights overall.
