Former UFC middleweight Riki Fukuda has joined the roster of South Korea’s Road Fighting Championship and is expected to make his promotional debut in October at Road FC 13.
Terms of Fukuda’s deal were not announced. Road FC 13 takes place Oct. 12 in Gumi, South Korea and will feature a lightweight title rematch between reigning champion Yui Chul Nam and challenger Takasuke Kume.
Fukuda’s opponent has not yet been announced. The former Deep champion last competed in March, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Brad Tavares at UFC on Fuel TV 8. The Japanese talent alternated wins and losses during his time with the Las Vegas-based organization, posting a 2-3 record before receiving his UFC walking papers.
Prior to his Octagon career, Fukuda compiled a seven-fight win streak from 2008 to 2010, capturing the Deep middleweight title and defending it once before signing with the UFC in 2011. Fukuda, 32, owns 11 of his 19 career victories by way of decision and has been finished just once in 26 pro outings.
