Jessica Aguilar will face a tough test in her Ultimate Fighting Championship debut.

Promotion officials recently announced that the former World Series of Fighting strawweight queen will lock horns with Claudia Gadelha at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro on Aug. 1. The card takes place at the HSBC Arena and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight championship showdown between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia.

Aguilar is regarded as one of the world’s top 115-pound talents. The American Top Team product is unbeaten in her last 10 fights, including a recent three-bout stint with WSOF. “Jag” submitted Alida Gray at WSOF 8 to capture the promotion’s inaugural strawweight crown before defending the strap with five-round verdicts over Emi Fujino and Kalindra Faria.

Gadelha suffered the first loss of her 13-bout career in December at UFC on Fox 13, where she dropped a hotly-contested split decision to current strawweight ruler Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The Brazilian debuted in the Octagon with a unanimous decision triumph over Tina Lahdemaki at UFC Fight Night “Cerrone vs. Miller.”
