WEC featherweight champion
Urijah Faber (Pictures) will defend his title against
Jens Pulver (Pictures) on June 1 at Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif., the WEC announced Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Faber, nicknamed the "California Kid," is the top-ranked 145-pound fighter in the world. At 20-1, he has won 12 straight and has never lost in the WEC.
Pulver, 22-8-1, debuted in the promotion in December. The former UFC lightweight champion dropped to 145 pounds and scored an impressive 35-second submission of
Cub Swanson (Pictures).
WEC bantamweight champion
Miguel Torres (Pictures) will also defend his 135-pound title against
Manny Tapia (Pictures), and former NCAA Division I wrestling champion
Mark Munoz (Pictures) will debut in the WEC in a middleweight bout.
