A featherweight pairing between Akira Corassani and Sam Sicilia has been added to UFC on Fox 14.
Promotion officials announced the bout on Thursday. UFC on Fox 14 takes place at the Tele2Arena in Stockholm on Jan. 24 and is headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson. The evening’s main card airs on the Fox and also includes another 205-pound matchup pitting Phil Davis against Ryan Bader.
A native of Gothenburg, Sweden, Corassani has dropped back-to-back fights to Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway after beginning his Octagon tenure with three consecutive triumphs. The 32-year-old Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu product is 12-5 as a professional overall, with seven victories via decision.
Sicilia, meanwhile, has had an up-and-down UFC career since appearing on Season 15 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” The Sikjitsu representative is 3-4 with the Las Vegas-based promotion, most recently submitting to a Katsunori Kikuno rear-naked choke at UFC Fight Night “Hunt vs. Nelson” in September.
