Dennis Siver and Cub Swanson will square off in a featherweight co-main event at UFC on Fuel TV 7, promotion officials announced Wednesday.
Siver, 33, recently put forth a superior performance at UFC on Fox 5 this past Saturday, dismantling veteran Nam Phan en route to a unanimous decision victory on the undercard. The victory marks the Russian-born German’s sixth victory in seven fights, as he kicked off 2012 with a hard-fought triumph over the highly regarded Diego Nunes at UFC on Fuel TV 2.
Swanson also rides a hot streak heading into the pivotal featherweight clash, as the Jackson’s MMA rep has not lost since suffering a submission defeat to Ricardo Lamas 13 months ago in his Octagon debut. Three consecutive victories would follow for Swanson, who knocked out George Roop and Ross Pearson earlier this year before doing the same to Charles Oliveira on Sept. 22 at UFC 152.
