Matt Grice will square off with Jeremy Larsen in a featherweight contest at UFC 166.
Promotion officials recently announced the fight, which will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston on Oct. 19. UFC 166 is headlined by the third meeting between reigning heavyweight king Cain Velasquez and former titlist Junior dos Santos. The card also includes a heavyweight clash between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson and a lightweight tilt pitting Gilbert Melendez against Diego Sanchez.
Grice, 32, enters the bout having lost two of his last three in the Octagon. “The Real One” dropped a split decision to Dennis Bermudez in his most recent outing at UFC 157, a wild encounter that is considered to be one of 2013’s best scraps. Grice competed once in 2012, capturing a unanimous verdict against Leonard Garcia at UFC on FX 3.
A cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 15,” the 27-year-old Larsen is still looking for his first UFC triumph. The Arizona Combat Sports product was stopped by Joe Proctor at the “TUF 15” finale before suffering a first-round knockout loss to Lucas Martins at UFC on FX 8 in May.
