An injury has knocked Rafael Cavalcante out of his planned light heavyweight showdown with Ovince St. Preux.
St. Preux debuted in the UFC with four consecutive victories, besting Gian Villante, Cody Donovan, Nikita Krylov and Ryan Jimmo in succession. “OSP” came up short in his most recent outing, however, losing a five-round decision to Ryan Bader on Aug. 16.
Barroso, meanwhile, has split a pair of Octagon appearances. The Brazilian known as “Bodao” debuted with a unanimous decision victory over Ednaldo Oliveira at UFC 163 before losing a split verdict against Hans Stringer on March 23.
Cavalcante last competed at UFC 174, where he lost a lopsided decision to Bader.
