Fight Nights Global 70 Weigh-in Results: Palhares, Ivanov Cleared for Main Event Clash

The Fight Nights Global 70 headliner will move forward as planned, as both Rousimar Pahlares and Alexei Ivanov have been cleared for their welterweight showdown.

Palhares tipped the scales at 171 pounds, while Ivanov checked in at 169.7 pounds for the bout. Fight Nights Global 70 takes place at the FSK Sports Complex in Ulan-Ude, Buryatia, Russia, on Friday. The card is expected to be available via on demand on UFC Fight Pass at a later date.

Palhares, a former World Series of Fighting champion and 12-time UFC veteran, will be making his Fight Nights Global debut. The 37-year-old submission specialist enters the bout on a two-fight skid after losing to Michal Materla via second-round knockout at KSW 36 and to Emil Weber Meek by first-round KO at Venator FC 3.

Ivnaov, meanwhile, had a seven-fight winning streak snapped in his most recent outing when he was submitted by Gennadiy Kovalev in the opening stanza at Fight Nights Global 57 on Dec. 16. The 30-year-old Russian is 11-3 as a professional overall.
