First Two Bouts Announced for UFC 221 in Australia on Feb. 10

UFC 221 has its first two matchups. The promotion recently announced that Jussier da Silva will face Ben Nguyen at flyweight and Tyson Pedro will lock horns with Saparbek Safarov at light heavyweight at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia, on Feb. 10.

Da Silva is 6-4 in the Octagon, including a first-round submission of Yuta Sasaki at UFC Fight Night 117. “Formiga” also owns notable triumphs over Dustin Ortiz, Wilson Reis, Zach Makovsky, Scott Jorgensen and Chris Cariaso.

Nguyen has been victorious in four of his first five promotional outings. The 29-year-old Integrated MMA product is coming off consecutive wins over Tim Elliott and Geane Herrera in the Octagon.

Pedro suffered his first loss in seven pro outings when he dropped a unanimous decision to Ilir Latifi at UFC 215 on Sept. 9. Safarov is also coming off his first career defeat, a second-round TKO against Gian Villante at UFC Fight Night 102.
