Flyweights Ian McCall and Dustin Ortiz are set to lock horns for a second time at UFC Fight Night “St. Preux vs. Teixeira” on Aug. 8.
The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the 125-pound pairing following an initial report from The Tennessean. The UFC Fight Night event takes place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and is headlined by a light heavyweight showdown pitting Ovince St. Preux against Glover Teixeira.
McCall already owns a victory over Ortiz, as he outpointed the Roufusport member at Tachi Palace Fights 9 on May 6, 2011. “Uncle Creepy” saw a two-bout winning streak halted at UFC 183, where he lost a unanimous decision to John Lineker. McCall owns notable triumphs over Brad Pickett, Iliarde Santos, Darrell Montague and Jussier da Silva during his professional tenure.
Ortiz is 3-2 in the Octagon since making his debut with a third-round stoppage over Jose Maria Tome in 2013. The 26-year-old also owns split-decision triumphs over Ray Borg and Justin Scoggins during his time in the UFC. Most recently, Ortiz dropped a unanimous verdict against Joseph Benavidez at UFC Fight Night in Austin this past November.
